California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger has signed legislation and issued an executive order that together develop a sustainable management program for the Sacramento-San Joaquin Bay Delta. The program, known as Delta Vision, will build upon CALFED Program work on water supply and ecosystem restoration and will include infrastructure and land-use resources.

Under the legislation and executive order a cabinet-level committee and an independent Blue Ribbon Task Force will be created to develop a plan addressing specified issued.

In a press release, Governor Schwarzenegger stated, "We must address the health of the delta because our current practices are not sustainable. My executive order and the signing of this bill will help ensure that a plan exists to determine how to deal with the challenges facing the delta today and in the future."
