The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved
financial assistance totaling $128,730,000 as follows:
- $1,610,000 from the
Drinking Water State Revolving Fund for water system
improvements for the Beechwood Water Supply Corporation
(Sabine County);
- $1,380,000 from the Clean
Water State Revolving Fund for wastewater system
improvements for the City of Arcola (Fort Bend County);
- $8,385,000 from the Texas
Water Development Fund for water system improvements for
the Bell County Water Control and Improvement District
No. 1 ($4,000,000) (Bell County), Falls County Water
Control and Improvement District No. 1 ($885,000) (Falls
County, and the City of Buffalo ($3,500,000) (Leon
County);
- $116,355,000 from the
Water Infrastructure fund for construction of a water
supply project for Central Harris County Regional Water
Authority ($22,050,000) (Harris County), the City of
Dallas ($23,400,000) (Dallas County), the City of
Lubbock ($22,615,000) (Lubbock County), Tarrant Regional
Water District ($9,890,000) (Tarrant County), for water
project development costs for the Upper Trinity Regional
Water District ($10,400,000) (Denton County), and the
Coastal Water Authority ($28,000,000) (Harris County);
and
- $1,000,000 from the Water
Loan Assistance Fund for water system improvements for
the Fort Bend County Fresh Water Supply District No. 1
($600,000) (Fort Bend County), and the City of Arcola
($400,000) (Fort Bend County).
The TWDB is the state agency
charged with collecting and disseminating water-related
data, assisting with regional planning, and preparing the
State Water Plan for the development of the state’s water
resources, and administering cost-effective financial
programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater
treatment, flood control and agricultural water conservation
projects.
