TX: Texas Water Development Board Approves $17,000,800 For Water-Related Projects in Texas Communities

Austin, TX -- The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved financial assistance totaling $17,000,800 as follows:
  • $5,645,000 from the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund for water system improvements for the Hidalgo County Municipal Utility District (Hidalgo County);
  • $8,495,000 from the Clean Water State Revolving Fund for wastewater system improvements for the City of Sabinal ($4,000,000) (Uvalde County), the Hidalgo County Municipal Utility District ($3,520,000) (Hidalgo County), and the City of Eastland ($975,000) (Eastland County);
  • $925,000 from the Texas Water Development Fund for wastewater system improvements for the City of Sabinal ($250,000) (Uvalde County), and for water and wastewater system improvements for the Glidden Fresh Water Supply District No. 1 ($675,000) (Colorado County); and
  • $1,935,800 from the Economically Distressed Areas Program for first time wastewater service for the Olmito Water Supply Corporation ($300,000) (Cameron County), and for the City of Brownsville ($1,635,800) (Cameron County).

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning, and preparing the State Water Plan for the development of the state’s water resources, and administering cost-effective financial programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control and agricultural water conservation projects.
